Game score 5.83 / 10 calculated out of 1916 players' votes. The unit cap has been increased from 1000 to a staggering 10,000 troops, special Tactical Powers such as the Arrow Volley can be used and new buildings make their appearance alongside the Crusader Extreme skirmish trail. The multiplayer mode in Stronghold: Crusader Extreme allows for fighting battles via LAN and the Internet, with up to eight players participating at the same time. Extreme plays exactly like the original Stronghold Crusader, only with a few additions. The game is also compatible with Windows Vista. The game was also enriched with the units and maps that were previously available to American Stronghold: Crusader players only. The developers implemented new tactical options which give us more control over the situation on the battlefield. Stronghold: Crusader Extreme is powered by the same graphic engine as Stronghold: Crusader (isometric view with camera rotation), but thanks to some improvements we may now fight huge battles where the number of participating units on the screen exceeds 10,000 warriors at the same time. The new trail of the crusade is called the Extreme Trail. Our main goal is to create and lead a huge army of knights to conquer the heathens led by eight different computer-controlled characters. We start at the point where Stronghold: Crusader left off. The game takes us to the Middle Ages when the entire attention of Europe was focused on the occupied Jerusalem, and many rulers organized crusades in order to take the Holy City back from the hands of infidels.

Stronghold: Crusader Extreme is an enhanced version of Stronghold: Crusader, developed by Firefly Studios in cooperation with Gamecock Media.
